Visa and Mastercard adopt USDC payouts across 200 countries
Visa and Mastercard are enabling USDC payouts across roughly 200 countries, extending stablecoin settlement through the two largest global card networks, according to CryptoSlate. The reported rollout would let payouts be routed in the dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Circle rather than solely through traditional correspondent banking rails. Stablecoin settlement through Visa and Mastercard would move USDC from crypto-native venues into mainstream payment infrastructure used by merchants and financial institutions. Search context indicates card networks are already testing multiple stablecoins side by side for settlement, making this a live contest over which dollar tokens sit on those rails. The report frames the move as a payout expansion spanning about 200 countries. Search excerpts note that Mastercard expanded its stablecoin settlement support in June 2026 to include USDC, PYUSD, RLUSD and SoFiUSD, and that SoFi became the first bank-issued stablecoin to go live on a major card network.

Marqeta and Coinbase partner to launch stablecoin payment card service
Nasdaq-listed card-issuing platform Marqeta (MQ) and Coinbase have partnered to let crypto-native and non-crypto enterprises issue bank cards funded by stablecoin balances. Coinbase handles custody of the stablecoin balances and conversion between digital assets and fiat, Base provides on-chain settlement infrastructure, and Marqeta handles card issuance, payment processing and bank and card-network relationships. Under the described division of labour, cardholders can spend stablecoin balances at merchants that accept bank cards worldwide, extending stablecoin use beyond crypto venues onto mainstream card rails. Enterprises can also issue cards and fund card programs around the clock. Coinbase's role covers stablecoin balance custody and fiat conversion, while Base is named as the on-chain settlement layer. Marqeta had previously issued crypto asset payment cards for Coinbase.

Mastercard and BVNK launch integrated fiat and stablecoin platform
Mastercard and BVNK launched the Global Money Platform, a single-API product that lets banks, fintechs and enterprises embed multi-currency accounts holding fiat and stablecoins, with real-time conversion between them, stablecoin-linked cards and local bank payouts via Mastercard Move. The platform is already available through BVNK and is the first major integration of the two companies' capabilities since Mastercard completed its acquisition of BVNK in August. It puts stablecoin balances directly inside Mastercard's card and payout rails rather than beside them, giving banks, fintechs and enterprises a single connection for holding, converting, sending and spending both forms of money. Nuvei and Marqeta, alongside Ontop, Beem and Almond FinTech, are among the first to integrate. Mastercard said coverage for local-currency payouts through Mastercard Move is expected to reach more than 40 currencies across over 200 countries in 2027, with card issuing available in more than 130 countries. The company said the platform will add support for agentic commerce and tokenized deposits down the line.
